Dr. Ameeta Sachdev

Dr. Ameeta Sachdev has been in the dental field for more than two decades. While attending dental school in India, she was selected as the Best Student Clinician of India, and presented her tabletop clinic at the American Dental Association Annual Meeting in San Francisco, 2003. During that period, her interests in dentistry varied from studying dental fear to researching Ayurveda as a holistic approach to dentistry. She then decided to pursue her career in the United States and was awarded a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Tufts University, Boston.
After moving to New York, Dr. Sachdev worked in the Bronx: at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center (now Montefiore North Hospital) during her General Practice Residency (GPR). Thereafter, she worked for 3 years as a general dentist at Ezras Choilim Health Center, Monroe, while also pursuing her interest in orthodontics by attending a full time 11 month didactic and clinical orthodontic advanced education program at New Jersey Dental School (now Rutgers School of Dental Medicine).
With the support and encouragement of her family, Dr. Ameeta moved to Denver to complete her orthodontic residency at University of Colorado. Upon her return she has been serving in Rockland County as an orthodontist. Having called North Rockland her home for a decade, she founded Sachdev Family Orthodontics (SFO) to fulfill the orthodontic needs of the community. (SFO, code for San Francisco Airport, is also the first airport that Dr. Ameeta landed in the US!).
SFO has expanded to cater to the needs of Passaic county in New Jersey by adding the Ringwood location. Dr. Sachdev hopes to serve the towns of Ringwood, Wayne, Pompton Lakes, Haskell, Wanaque, West Milford, Oakland, Riverdale and Hewitt in New Jersey and Tuxedo Park and Sloatsburg in New York with the same caring touch as our Rockland county location. She believes that every relationship begins with a smile and wants to be able to help people “Just smile!” without any inhibitions. She hopes to use her practice as a platform for making a difference in the community.
Dr. Sachdev was an attending at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx for 8 years, where she enjoyed teaching the orthodontic residents. Following her “highest commitment to excellence”, Dr. Sachdev received her board certification from American Association of Orthodontics (ABO).
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, paddle boarding, hiking and indulging in outdoor adventures.
