What is an Orthodontist?
An orthodontist, is a dentist who after graduating from dental school, goes through a specialized training, for 2-3 years extensively studying orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
At what age should I visit an Orthodontist?
The American Association of Orthodontics recommends seeing an orthodontist by the age of 7 years. Whether it is for yourself or your kid, any age is a good age to see an orthodontist.
How long will I be in treatment for?
Depending on the type of treatment you need, it usually takes between 6 months to 2.5 years with the average time being about 2 years.
Do braces hurt?
You may feel a slight amount of discomfort or soreness for a couple days as your teeth, gums, cheeks, and mouth get used to your new braces.
